I’ve always been terrible at writing my own biography. It’s not that I don’t believe in my own abilities as a writer, but more that I can never seem to believe anyone would be interested in my backstory. However, I do understand that for some, one’s story can be the catalyst to creating a good working relationship. So here goes…

I’m a born and raised true Texan of Korean ancestry. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2013 with degrees in Radio-Television-Film and Sport Management. My first love has always been photography, particularly concerts. I’ve been working to create a portfolio to show my range in not only music, but also portraiture, fashion, events, and photojournalism. I’ve worked as a videographer on countless projects, but come from a documentary background because I believe the best stories are all around us. Storytelling is the backbone of all my work and I hope to show the world that everyone has a story worth sharing, we just have to go find them.

Some other things I love:

  • music. I can listen to almost every genre but mostly contemporary and “alternative” R&B, pop, and folk music.
  • movies. How could I call myself a filmmaker if I didn’t love to catch a film as often as I can?
  • sports. My second degree happened because I can’t get enough of sports. In college, I truly believed I was going to work in the world of sports news and entertainment. It’s still a great passion of mine. Go, Spurs, Go.
  • fashion/style. Menswear is interesting for me because I am masculine-presenting and prefer menswear. I have friends that also run wonderful, small, queer-run businesses.
  • travel. Who doesn’t love catching a flight to somewhere new or anywhere you love and enjoying the sights, the sounds, the food, and the people? I hope to continue combining my work and my passion for travel for decades to come.
  • people. I’m a very extroverted person and love to meet new people. I think this love for those around me truly helped me cultivate my passion behind storytelling through films and photography.
